National School Success Month

It’s National School Success month! Notebooks, pencils, crayons and, these days, computers are all tools that contribute to a child’s success in school. This month, as the weather cools, we’re thinking of another more basic tool that makes a huge contribution: a warm coat! A reduction in body temperature of just 2 degrees reduces your heart rate and causes confusion and lack of coordination. Kids without coats shiver all the way to school and have trouble concentrating during class. They rarely go out for recess. For these children, the warmth of a good coat can make all the difference. (Maybe it’s the extra warm coat hanging in your child’s closet right now!)
