Every year since 1928, the President has invited all those interested in child welfare to help bring awareness to “the fundamental necessity of … protecting and developing the health of the children of the United States.” It’s estimated that 1 in 5 children lives in poverty. We know many will spend this winter without warm coats. As the President reminds each Child Health Day, working in support of children’s health is important work and it is never quite finished. Today, we thank the friends and contributors who have made it possible for us to provide warm coats to thousands of children over the years. We are privileged to work with you to warm our communities…one coat – one child – at a time.
