Planting Seeds for a Warm Coat Harvest

A good harvest sometimes depends on only a few well-placed seeds. At least, that’s what we’re learning from the Mission Anglican Church (TMAC) in Pensacola (FL). After their very successful coat drive last year, TMAC decided to organize another one. They immediately began “planting the seeds” for a bountiful harvest of coats by Thanksgiving. Seed #1: Organize coat drop-off locations all over town. (TMAC has 7!) Seed #2: Contact the local media. (The Pensacola News Journal broadcast TMAC’s month-long event.) Seed #3: Post on Facebook and other social networking sites. (We know they’ll post on our Facebook page and theirs, just like they did last year!) Welcome back, TMAC! You definitely put the “organize” in Organizer. Thanks for showing us just that a few small steps can make a big difference in your community!
