Sherri Lewis Wood: National Founder & Board Chair. Twenty years’ experience in the trust, employee benefit and legal world provided a background for Sherri to lead the national expansion of One Warm Coat in 2001. Sherri attended Oregon State University and received a C.E.B.S. designation from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Having lived in 15 of our United States, she has the ability to create a bond with volunteers, agencies and sponsors across the country. [Her Girl Scout sash had many badges!] San Francisco, CA
Jane Chope: Secretary. Jane brings 30+ years of experience in strategic branding, public relations and package design. She was actively involved in the development of the One Warm Coat logo as Senior Account Manager at Thompson Design Group in 2002. San Francisco, CA
Sarah Singleton: Treasurer. A former Partner at Fleishman-Hillard, the world’s largest public relations and communications agency, Sarah is a veteran of more than 15 years of high tech and consumer product marketing and corporate communications. She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism.San Francisco, CA
Kevin Cheung: Kevin is a Finance Manager at Harris Corporation with experience in small business ownership, commercial real estate development, financial oversight and city governance. He has earned a B.S. in Business Finance, Masters in Accounting and Religion, and is working towards a M.S. in Predictive Analytics at Northwestern University. Lynchburg, VA
David Elrod: David has over 20 years of experience across a broad range of finance roles at large companies. David is currently Finance Director for Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations at Microsoft. During his tenure at Microsoft, he has held a variety of positions including a three-year stint in China as the Regional Finance Manager for R&D. Prior to Microsoft, he was employed by FedEx and Georgia-Pacific in roles ranging from Accounting to Audit and FP&A. David is a CPA and a CMA. He received a BBA from Oglethorpe University (Atlanta) and a MBA from Indiana University. He is a member of the AICPA and the IMA and is currently the dean of the IMA’s Leadership Academy.
Candace Gregory: Candace is a renowned advocate of the homeless and has more than 20 years of experience in human services. Candace joined Open Door Mission in 1995, a $16 million non-profit ministry where she currently serves as President/CEO. She is a graduate of Grace University and has received an honorary doctorate from Clarkson College in Humanitarian Services. Omaha, NE
Melissa Manuel, Ph.D.: Dr. Manuel serves as the Academic Department Director of Fashion Marketing & Management at The Art Institute of Atlanta in Atlanta, GA. She brings more than 15 years of retail & product development experience to the board. Her tenure in higher education has given her the opportunity to share her love for volunteering, as well as, the importance of corporate social responsibility with hundreds of students. Kurt Simon: With 17 years of CPG brand management experience, Kurt brings a classical marketing approach to the team. He is currently Senior Director of Global Brands for the Kellogg Company, after almost 14 years with Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Josiah Tubbs: Josiah is a Data Analytics Manager in the Dallas office for Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, LLP, with over 9 years of experience in data analytics, strategy, and management. Josiah earned his B.S. in Finance and Business Administration, an M.S. in Accounting and Information Management and is currently working toward his M.S. in Information Technology Management. He is a decorated veteran, having served in the U. S. Navy for nearly 5 years working on national intelligence initiatives related to information technology and intelligence analysis and has a special place in his heart for reaching youth, being the eldest of eleven children.
