You’re invited to join our new “15 Minutes to More!” effort to help One Warm Coat get a start on the winter need for warm coats. Devastating weather events like Hurricane Sandy and the current economic “climate” mean that our neighbors will need more warm coats this Winter than ever before and we need your help.
During “15 Minutes to More,” YOU can be part of the solution. How? Following are our ideas. You probably have some of your own!
5 Ideas for 15 Minutes
Ask your employer to hold a warm coat drive at work this year.
Contact Human Resources or your company’s owner/manager to discuss the possibilities. Tell them how easy it is, and show them our free Tools & Resources! http://onewarmcoat.org/organize-a-drive/six-easy-steps/.
Ask a local community service Agency to share their needs by registering on our website.
Registered agencies appear on our “Donate a Coat” link so that coat drive Organizers can find them easily. A personal call from a coat drive Organizer (that’s you) makes a perfect connection! Plan to expand your coat drive this year!
Spend 15 minutes planning ways to add drop-off days and locations, partner with new volunteers or create new publicity. If you have already completed your coat drive, consider a second drive later this winter.
Provide financial support for our work!
Monetary contributions support our mission of ensuring everyone that needs a coat will receive one free of charge. Financial donations support our mailings and our outreach, and help us make occasional special purchase of new coats for kids.
- Make a donation
- Give a gift in someone’s honor and send and eCard to let them know
- Research matching funds through Human Resources at your workplace. Companies often provide financial support to the organizations that their employees support. Contact your manager to explore the possibilities.
